Business +
Posted: Thursday 8th Jan 2009
Business+ is a Knowledge Transfer programme aimed at filling the gap between projects run through STEP student placements and the full 18 months – 3 year Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme. Typically projects run from between 3 and 12 months.
The scheme is available to small to medium enterprises within the SEEDA region, currently without significant interaction with Universities, that are seeking to work closely with the knowledge base and to enhance their existing record of recruiting and retaining graduates. A Business+ project can involve any Higher Education Institution within the SEEDA region.
Business+ provides skills and new ideas of a high quality graduate backed by University knowledge and resources. It is designed to offer project flexibility as well as training and support to the company partner, academic and graduate.
Typical ideas include: developing a new product, improving an existing one, optimising production, improving your marketing strategy, or optimising your business methods.
The University of Winchester, and the Business School in particular, would be interested in hearing from any SMEs who are interested in forwarding a bid. There are two deadlines in early 2009 – one in January and one in March – with funds available to support a significant number of projects.
