Dress for Success with Perspex Consulting

Over thirty people attended the recent presentation by Sam Thatcher of Perspex Consulting at the Winchester Discovery Centre. Sam, Senior Image Consultant at Perspex, shared her extensive knowledge of business dress and etiquette to the Wired Wessex audience, helping us understand that one’s professional image can make or break a successful career.
She explained the elements of a polished business ‘look’ and emphasized the importance of dressing correctly for the occasion, be it working from home or an important interview, stating that ‘You tell others how to treat you’ by the way that you dress and present yourself.
The most important factors in presenting a professional image are that your clothing fits you properly, flatters your body shape and skin tone, is appropriate for the occasion, and that you’re well groomed. One way of making the shopping and dressing process simpler is to create a ‘capsule wardrobe’, in which you put together 15-20 items that all mix and match well together.
Samantha brought models and accessory samples to help us understand how a garment should fit properly, as well as to demonstrate how an outfit can be changed by switching accessories. Thank you, Sam, for an informative and enjoyable evening!
