About eHampshire
The Hampshire Broadband Project has moved on to become eHampshire, the body responsible for edriving forward the use of ICT and high speed communications in Hampshire.
Thanks to the contribution of its members, the Hampshire Broadband Project has been able to help over 400 businesses take up broadband, deliver over 300 advice sessions and provide support and advice to individuals and community groups across the county.
The new eHampshire Partnership will aim to build on this success by encouraging businesses and communities to exploit the benefits of high speed communication.
The partnership meets quarterly under the chairmanship of David Livermore and drives forward new support programmes to an agreed terms of reference.
The programme of activity includes the provision of grants for businesses connecting for the first time to broadband, free advice sessions, workshops, events, a free helpline (0845 606 6118), learning opportunities, and more.
This website is sponsored by Hampshire County Council’s Economic Development Office.
The Economic Development Office is committed to promoting the take-up and use of broadband in order to:
- Promote business competitiveness and prosperity in Hampshire.
- Enhance education and learning opportunities.
- Strengthen communities, ensuring all have the opportunity to benefit from broadband communication.
There are additional advantages such as helping reduce pressures on the transport infrastructure by increasing home and mobile working, as highlighted in the current Matisse Pilot Study.
